Crawl glaze is a textured glaze that separates or crawls when it is fired. Depending on how thick the glaze is applied determines the texture on the finished piece. Born of several mistakes, I now make these large “cracked” pieces on purpose. More sculpture than pottery, the pieces are approximately 24 inches tall. This is a another application of a crawl glaze. If good fortune smiles and the piece doesn't fracture, I also make stands for these large pieces.
